Electric Arguments..The Fireman III

A finales de Octubre del 2008, Paul hizo la presentación oficial del disco
"Electric Arguments"..que creo en conjunto con Youth, durante solo 13 días y de improviso!!..como el mismo McCa dijo..se metia al estudio sin tener absolutamente nada planeado, de repente se les ocurria incluir una armonica, una guitarra, la bateria, un toque de esto y aquello y a ver como sonaba y listo..si les gustaba se quedaba.. no tenian ni letras en borrador para los temas..
Asi que lo que escuchamos en E.A es puramente improvisacion de una canción x día..ya que a ese ritmo trabajaron, a manera de no fatigarse demasiado y disfrutarlo, lo que sin duda sucedio.

Algo de lo curioso de este album es que a diferencia de sus antecesores, Strawberry Oceans Ship y Rushes, Paul y Youth aceptaron por fin que ellos son quienes estaban detras del proyecto The Fireman..quiza para los que estamos en el mundo beatle y/o McCartney, ya no nos sorprende, ya lo sabiamos desde hace tanto tiempo que hasta decimos "Yyyy..." pero para el resto del mundo si fue una novedad. Y Paul acepto ser tan responsable del pseudonimo Fireman que orgullosamente colgo en YouTube un trailer del album donde dejaba ver la portada de su nuevo álbum "experimental"..





Estas son algunas de las fotos de la presentación de E.A en los Estudios Abbey Road, Londres..a donde por cierto..no asistio Youth..



Como todos los tracks fueron una mera y afortunada improvisacion..Paul remató improvisando en plena presentación, una pintura similar al estilo del Art del disco..

Pues µuchos de los McCas ya estamos escuchando este nuevo aLbm..SUPER ALBUM!!
de Paul y Youth.. a pesar de que aun faltan 18 dias para el lanzamiento oficiaL..

yo sé que diran "son McCartnistas, q pueden decir si no es otra cosa q esta muy bueno el disco"..pero la verdad es que hasta los Lennonistas dicen q esta MUY BUENO!!
casi nada q ver con Strawberry Ocean y Rushes, los dos primeros del Bombero..(que estan en otro de los post aqui mismo)
en este disco Paul CANTA en TODAS las canciones..y la verdad no suenan tan abstractas..esta vez tienen pies y cabeza..lo que los temas de los anteriores no..
Algunos dicen que es como si tuviera un track x cada disco de Paul..como si fuera una integracion de canciones q se le han ido quedado a lo largo de la discografia..

además trae varios temas que son simplemente maravillosos..tendrian que escuchar
Sun is Shining para estar de acuerdo..


Es que en verdad la calidad de los tracks es muy buena, tanto que facilmente se hubieran podido desplegar almenos 5 singles..

Como probablemente saben, el primer sencillo que se lanzó fué LifeLong Passion, un mes después la disquera nos dejo conocer Nothing Too Much Just Out Of Sight que se estreno en Radio BBC el 29 de Septiembre..
Luego, 15 días después se coló por YouTube, de manera no oficial, la alegre Sing the Changes que dejó ver que el nuevo disco iba a ser más de lo esperado, y bueno, justamente asi ha sido..
en las opiniones que he recopilado, ha superado lo que esperabamos..

eL Dr James Paul McCartney

Este 25 de mayo del 2008, Paul ha agregado un honor más a la numerosa lista de reconocimientos recibidos y que hasta la fecha incluye premios, elogios y hasta un título de caballero otorgado por la mismisima Reina Isabel.

Esta vez, la prestigiosa Universidad de Yale le otorgó un grado honorario como Doctor en Música.

Según la universidad, McCartney, ha despertado a toda una generación al imprimirle un sonido fresco al rock y al R&B.

La institución dijo "Nadie se compara con el legendario compositor, quien fue designado caballero por la monarquía de su país en 1996".

Mientras que Paul preparo un breve discurso en el que mencionó sabías palabras:

"Be prepared to fail as well as to succeed because it is failure, not success, that defines character.."

Como en la canción, Los dueños del sello que iniciara su corta carrera con el último disco de Paul McCartney, se despide para dedicarse a lo que saben hacer: vender café.

Como era de esperarse, la cadena de cafeterías Starbucks decidió que no sabe nada de la industria musical y que debería dedicarse a su negocio primordial: vender tazas de café.

La tienda decidió vender su sello "Hear Music" a "Conchord Music", su socio de negocios en este rubro.

Este movimiento forma parte de un esfuerzo general de Starbucks por reestructurarse como empresa y volver a sus raíces.

Hay que recordar que el último disco de Sir Paul McCartney, "Memory Almost Full", fue editado a través de Starbucks, así como una serie de materiales exclusivos de Rolling Stones, Alanis Morrissette y Ray Charles

Off The Ground en ella Paul toca todos los instrumentos, por obvias razones en esta versión se queda en la guitarra acústica, pero lo acompaña su gran banda de 1992,
de quienes cabe destacar al gran Wix, que esta en los teclados, y quien lo ha acompañado desde entonces y ya es casi como de la familia.

The FiReMaN..

Este es uno de los pseudonimos de Paul, a decir verdad, es uno de sus favoritos, probablemente sea porque su padre (mi suegro) James McCartney trabajo medio tiempo como Bombero durante los bombardeos a Liverpool, aunque el mismo Paul ha dicho que la verdad jamas apago una llamarada, más bien solo vigilaba los pequeños incendios para que no se salieran de control.

Como sea, este es uno de los nombres alternos que Paul ha utilizado para firmar ya dos discos, y al parecer esta por llegar el tercero. Discos que aunque se desvian del estilo normal, romántico de McCa, no dejan de ser buenos discos, pues la musica es fresca, un tanto experimental, y como me dijeron una ocasión "modernamente electronica".

Espero que disfruten de verdad este material..una pequeña porción del "PauL-ifacetiCo McCartney"

The McCartney-Mac Manus Collaboration

Hoy les dejo este disco titulado "The McCartney-Mac Manus Collaboration" (Mac Manus es el verdadero apellido de Elvis Costello).

Desde los años 80 (sobretodo 1987) y hasta la fecha, Paul y Costello han escrito juntos varias canciones, las cuales llevan los creditos como "McCartney /MacManus"

Estos temas se han publicado en los discos en solitario de ambos, pero jamás como un solo disco de ambos.

Esta es una cita de Elvis Costello al respecto.. "The ironic part is, if it sounds like he wrote it, I probably did and vice versa. He wanted to do all the ones with lots of words and all on one note, and I'm the one trying to work in the 'Please Please Me' harmony all over the place. It was really fun."

Algunas canciones son de la epoca de Flowers in the Dirt, otras, para ser exacta 3, son covers a The Beatles.

o Más conocido como el "Concierto para Linda" se realizo el 10 de Abril del 99 (Londres) y la version en US fué el 15 de Marzo.

En este concierto participan grandes estrellas del Rock, como por ejemplo Elvis Costello, Tom Jones, George Michael, Johnny Walker e incluido el mismo McCartney,-claro, como iba a faltar!?-

covereando en su mayoria canciones de los Beatles y unas cuantas de otros idolos pioneros del rock.

Cabe resaltar que Paul casi se pone a llorar en medio de la interpretación de Lonesometown..si la version en vivo desde el Cavern te conmovió..esta si que te hará llorar igual q a él..

NOTA: No Confundir con "A Garland For Linda" ese también fue un concierto organizado por Paul en honor a su difunta Linda, y también se publicó en CD, aunque es mucho más dificil de encontrar. Contiene temas instrumentales, compuestos por diversos autores, Paul solo contribuye con uno, por lo que se puede contar como trabajo "clásico" dentro de la discografia de J.P.
